Lavender Essential Oil – The most popular essential oil is lavender. If you were only going to buy one essential oil, it would be lavender. Used in all sections of The Essential 5. This amazing oil is one of the most useful of all Essential Oils. Lavender’s properties include antiseptic, relaxant, antitoxic, burn, sedative, tonic, and deodorant, and it blends well with most other oils. It is a bridging oil for perfumery and is a very commonly known aroma.

Geranium Essential Oil – Geranium has a strong herbal scent with a rose-like scent. This wonderful all-purpose essential oil has therapeutic properties as an astringent, antiseptic, antidepressant, tonic, antibiotic and anti-infective. Helps with travel sickness, irritation associated with dermatitis, eczema and psoriasis.

Lemon Essential Oil – Known for its clean, refreshing scent, this oil has excellent antibacterial properties. It can be used for cleansing, antiseptic, refreshing and cooling effects on skin and hair. Lemon can help increase concentration. A strong clean smell is usually associated with cleanliness.

Chamomile essential oil – useful in treating aches and pains in muscles and joints. Treating PMS symptoms with chamomile is also beneficial, especially when the symptoms are related to stress. It has a long tradition of herbal medicine and the flowers were used in many remedies during World War II, including herbal teas. Chamomile’s strong scent is fruity and herbal, making it ideal for children and people with sensitive skin.

Tea Tree Essential Oil – Most of us have used or owned this oil at one stage or another. It is used in two parts and is best known as a very powerful immune stimulant. It may help fight infection. When used as part of an inhalation, it helps with colds, measles, sinusitis, and viral infections. For skin and hair, tea tree has been used to combat acne, oily skin, head lice, and dandruff.
